About
Through unconditional love, you will find bravery.

I’m Kara, a wife, and Mama to 3 little boys. My wild three give me so much purpose and they have taught me much more about life than I could ever teach them. Motherhood is truly a journey and has led me down the path of wanting a more simple, free, and natural style of living.
Before I became a mother, I discovered the harsh truths about the food industry, and shortly after also discovered the harsh truths of the beauty industry. Eventually, I started to learn and research what ingredients were helpful instead of harmful and began making my own skin care recipes. When I became pregnant, I wanted to feel confident that I was using safe ingredients for myself and my unborn baby.
I thought if I could spread a little love by making everyday essentials it would help women nurture their natural beauty. I strive to provide the best natural and organic products to benefit mothers, women, and the whole family.
At Love & Lions, we believe in a holistic approach to beauty, health, and life. All products are lovingly crafted with the highest quality ingredients. Each ingredient is inspired by nature and promotes a natural glow that nourishes and revitalizes skin.

My hope is that Love & Lions serves as a daily reminder that you are here for a purpose, and not only can we find bravery on our life's journey, but, it's through love that makes it possible.

XO,
Kara

May we all have a
KIND HEART, a WILD SPIRIT, and a BRAVE SOUL.

Pure Grass-fed Tallow
It might seem a little weird to use beef fat for your skin, but the practice is thousands of years old. A traditional way to care for your skin has been used for centuries because it's packed with nutrients. A super powerful moisturizer almost identical to our own skin's natural oil, which makes it easy to absorb. Rich in minerals and vitamins A, K, D, and E, essential fatty acids, and antioxidants. Tallow provides glowing, youthful-looking skin and restores firmness even after one use due to its nutritional profile. The vitamin E that is present is known to fight free radicals that cause wrinkles. Not only that, but vitamin E also prevents the loss of collagen, while vitamin E boosts skin's vibrancy. It helps to prevent the loss of moisture, improves the protective barrier of the skin, repairs damaged skin, and increases the flexibility of the skin. Making it perfect for not only your face but also irritated, dry skin, and eczema. A little goes a long way with tallow too, and it offers long-lasting moisture.
Raw Mango Seed Butter
Mango has been called the "king of fruits," and mango butter is extracted from the mango seeds (or the pit). Mango butter is rich in vitamins, fatty acids, and antioxidants, which nourish the skin and help with fine lines and wrinkles. It's also known to boost the skin’s luster and natural radiance while reducing the appearance of dark spots. Mango butter has a cooling effect that is perfect for after-sun care, and due to its qualities, it also speeds up the healing process of sunburns.
Unrefined Cocoa Seed Butter
Not only does it have a wonderful chocolatey smell, cocoa butter is also chock-full of antioxidants, which fight free radicals that cause skin to look mature. Cocoa butter helps with dark spots, skin aging, and dullness. It's also a deep moisturizer to nourish and hydrate the skin and give it a healthy glow. Ideal for skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis because of how gentle it is. Another thing to note is that cocoa butter is known to improve the appearance of scars with its healing properties and ability to hydrate the underlayers of the skin.

Organic Cold-Pressed Jojoba Oil
Packed with nourishing properties that moisturize the skin, leaving it feeling soft and supple. It's known to closely resemble sebum, the naturally occurring substance in human skin that helps to keep it moisturized. It is also popular for helping to balance oily skin and restore its natural moisture and complexion. Rich in vitamin E, B complex, and minerals. The B vitamins are great for treating skin issues like rosacea and hyperpigmentation. Another powerful benefit is that jojoba oil naturally protects your skin from sun damage and aids in healing sun damage as well.
Organic Aloe Vera Gel
Known for its amazing moisturizing, healing benefits, and after-sun relief, it's a great ingredient for sunny climates. Rich in vitamins A, B, C, and E, as well as antioxidants and several essential amino acids that keep the skin healthy and glowing. It's ideal for sensitive skin and to treat post-sun exposure. It calms irritated skin, relieves dark circles and inflammation, and eliminates dead skin cells.
Local Raw Honey
Honey is amazing for its antimicrobial properties, which can clarify pores. It also acts as a gentle exfoliant, which removes dead skin cells and brightens the skin. Honey also moisturizes skin and soothes inflammation, regenerating it and making it appear more plump and smooth.
Therapeutic-Grade Frankincense Essential Oil
One of the first gifts given to Jesus by the wise men, it truly has a long history of amazing health and emotional benefits. When it comes to the skin, it's known to protect, heal, and keep a youthful complexion. Frankincense is known to strengthen skin, improve its tone and elasticity, and defend against bacteria or blemishes. It may also help tone and reduce the appearance of scars and acne, as well as treat wounds.
Therapeutic-Grade Helichrysum Essential Oil
Known as the "immortelle" essential oil, it grows wild in the Mediterranean region of south Europe. Helichrysum is a powerhouse oil in that it is anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, and antimicrobial. It improves texture, fine lines, and skin tone and also relieves redness, inflammation, scars, blemishes, and more. For many years, it's been used medicinally to treat many health conditions, both physical and emotional.
Therapeutic-Grade Lavender Essential Oil
One of the most versatile essential oils, lavender offers a pleasant smell along with amazing benefits for your skin. It's antimicrobial and antibacterial, so it can be used to treat a number of skin problems like eczema, psoriasis, blemishes, and other skin irritants. The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties nourish the skin back to a healthy glow, but they also help prevent wrinkles and lighten the appearance of age spots and dark marks. Antioxidants fight off the free radicals that your skin is exposed to on a daily basis. Lavender is also great for healing the skin, making it ideal to use after time in the sun.
